Real work. Real results.

Mental skills are trainable

Confidence, focus and composure are not things you are born with or that only show up on good days. They are skills you build with reps, routines and the way you talk to yourself when it gets hard. I help athletes and teams train those skills on purpose, in practice, so they are there when the score is tight.

Pro hockey

From the WHL to the NHL. Trusted by Kris Knoblauch.

The same mental-performance work that supports players and staff at the highest levels of hockey is what I bring to every athlete, team and coach I work with.

“I am grateful for Steve’s involvement with my teams. Whether addressing an entire group or working with individual athletes, Steve knows how to navigate the situation and make the most out of the moment. I have worked with many sport psychologists and I truly respect his approach to motivate players to be the best that they can be and buy into the team concept. I strongly encourage individuals and teams who are striving for optimal performance to connect with Steve.”

What they’re saying

Client testimonials

Working with Steve has completely changed the way I play hockey. After our first session, I hit the ice with fire and passion and scored my first goal of the season. After the second session, I even moved up in the lines. More than anything, my mind feels clear on the ice, and I feel confident and focused like never before. Steve doesn’t just help you play better—he helps you think better while you play.

I have had Steve work with a number of my volleyball teams over the years, and the impact is always immediate. He provides practical mental performance tools and concepts that our athletes can apply immediately in competition. In our most recent tournament, the team used his strategies to reset after mistakes and stay focused when the score tightened at 20–20. Those tools helped the girls stay composed and confident in key moments, leading to a silver medal finish and promotion to Division 1.

I’ve had the opportunity to work with Steve on a number of occasions through the COTR wvb varsity team. Our program utilizes his expertise to help guide our athletes through the ups and downs of a post secondary season. Steve has a plethora of tools and resources available to help direct our athlete’s focus on what’s important, and how to manage the uncontrollable circumstances. We always come away from Steve’s sessions with a new outlook on our goals, and fresh ideas to work on.

The Cranbrook Eagles Boxing Club is proud to call Steve our Team Mental Trainer. Steve has been instrumental in providing our boxers the needed mental preparation for our sport. Having a professional with Steve’s background in our own “backyard” is not only convenient, but it really does give us the edge over our competition.
